NEW EXCOS EMERGE FOR OGUN FIBAN



Comrade Samuel Iyanda Olufemi Omilani has been elected as the new Chairman of the Ogun State Chapter of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (Ogun FIBAN) in a keenly contested election held today at the association's Secretariat in Abeokuta.

According to the result released by the Returning Officer, Dr. Micheal Adetunji Prosper, Omilani polled 40 votes to narrowly defeat his fellow contestant, Comrade Adeyinka Adegbite, popularly known as Omo Baba Tisa, who polled 34 votes, thus becoming the new Chairman of Ogun FIBAN.

Elected alongside Omilani as the new executive that will run the affairs of the association for the next three years are Princess Adejoke Somoye, popularly known as Ewa Ede, as the Vice President; Alexander Olalekan Shoyinka, popularly known as Ayinla Egba was elected as the new General Secretary; Muibat Adebisi Oseni - Treasurer; Abass Adefulu - Publicity Secretary; Abolanle Asakpa - Financial Secretary; Rasheed Ojelabi (Ore-Oba) - Organising Secretary; Olusoji Akindinya - Chief Whip; Oluwatoyin Adeniji (Olori) - Welfare Officer and David Oluwole Makinde - Ex Officio.

Immediately after the results were announced, Adegbite stood up maturely and exhibited the spirit of sportsmanship by congratulating Omilani with a handshake. Every other contestants that lost out also follow suit and congratulated all the winners.

The election was witnessed by big wigs in the association including the National President, Comrade Desmond Nwachukwu, the Acting Chairman, Alhaji Gbenga Adebayo-Oladunni (Imalian Boy), Hon. Ashamu Akinrinde, Elder Goke Babalola, Mr. Abiodun Muibi, Yeyeluwa Ibiyemi Ajadi, Chief Wole Sorunke (MC Murphy), among others.

The new executive will assume office officially on 17th July, 2017.
