+WHAT MAKES HER TICK
No doubt, beauty business or if you like, makeover business, is one of the booming enterprises in Nigeria despite the rather unending recession the country is going through. And the reason for that is simple. Any business that has its core customers as women is bound to thrive anywhere in the world at any time. Because women, by nature, always have ways of achieving whatever they desire. And looking good is arguably and usually, first on the list.
Meanwhile, in the business of beautifying fellow females, there is a young lady who is fast making her presence felt. And it is only a matter of time for the beautiful, dark complexioned babe to become one of the best in the industry with her craft. Welcome to the world of Olabisi Jinadu, a fast rising makeover artist in Nigeria.
Olabisi, the brain behind Mz Moyo Beauty Spa (MMBS) came into the beauty business in 2013 and she fell in love with the art immediately because of the fascination she derived from the fact that one could exercise high degree of control over one's appearance, confidence and personal style, and she has not looked back since that time.
For her, the philosophy must have been that what is worth doing at all, is worth doing well as she did not rest on her oars to become a top pro at what she loves to do. After her tutelage started with Redefinition Makeover, she went ahead to put in for some online training and courses which exposed her to global trends in the business. And that is apparently why her creativity in the art has no bounds.
The MMBS boss, according to her, gets her inspiration from nature, culture and beauty itself. And moreover, she believes beauty is universal and makeup/makeover is one way to let it shine through. Going quickly down the memory lane on how it all began for, hear her: "I started off doing makeup on myself and friends and spent years taking lot of close up photos so I could see exactly how my work translated on camera, later on I was doing make up on brides."
And to keep her skills sharp and up to date, hear what she does: "I go for professional trainings and workshop with other artists in the field and take up new challenges as they come." Meanwhile, Olabisi's main area of specialization is Bridal Makeup (Church and Traditional) as well as Guests at Event Makeup.
Olabisi also asserted that she loves how the effect of makeup brings out style and attitude of a person added that some of her role models in the industry include Liszzy and Joe. And she says she can always work with the budget of her clientele and would still achieve the best for them.
