If
you are an ardent listener to Faaji 106.5 fm, Lagos, you should be familiar
with a mystic programme titled "Mimi Aye" (Vicissitudes of Life)
which airs on the Daar Communications owned radio station every Friday night
between the hours of 10pm and 12am. And naturally, you should know the name of
the eerie presenter of the programme is Otunba Yemi Odunodu.
Of
course, Otunba Yemi Odunodu is no stranger to presenting such programme which
dwells on the ills of evil doers in the society by bringing their wickedness to
the fore through the penetrating power of the radio into different homes,
especially, and sometime, through the visual dimension of the television across
the south-western part of the country. After the demise of one of the pioneers
of mystic programmes on both radio and television, Kolawole Olawuyi, the late
presenter of "Iriri Aye" (Life and its Mysteries), Otunba Yemi
Odunodu was his first substitute who went by the name Arole Kolawole Olawuyi
(Kola Olawuyi's surrogate) and anchored the popular radio programme for some
time to immortalized and keep the legacy of Kola Olawuyi alive.
But
when things fell out between Otunba Yemi Odunodu and the management of Kolbim
Communications, the producers of "Iriri Aye" which was being run by
the wife of the late charismatic presenter, Otunba Yemi Odunodu went on to
create his own mystic programme, the gospel of which he has taken to different
electronic media where Yoruba language is allowed for programming and
presentation.
It
would shock you to know that contrary to the general misconception that because
of the nature of the programme he presents, Otunba Yemi Odunodu should be occult
himself in other to be able to ward off any evil targeted against him by some
of the devilish people he exposes with his programme, Otunba Yemi Odunodu, as
recently confirmed by this blogger is a devout Muslim whose Muslim name is
actually, Tajudeen. Though, as suggested by his surname, Odunodu (the Odu which
is the last part of the name when the first part, Odun, is removed means
"the communication symbol of the Ifa Oracle") he is originally from
the lineage of Ifa worshipers.
The
presenter who usually wears big red beads around his right wrist which
apparently is more of an insignia of his Otunba chieftaincy title rather than
being an amulet, not only observe the five daily prayers in Islam but also
knows how to pray well in the Islamic way.
And
wait for this, the man who looks more like he is just in his mid forties or just
nodding at fifty, is actually in his sixties and about three years gone beyond
sixty. But not many are aware of that fact, even amongst his close associates, most
of whom address him by his first name as if they are within the same age
bracket!
You
can take the pieces of information above to the bank because they were
extracted first hand over last weekend in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, where this
blogger had a one on one interaction with the mystic man who is a very warm and
interesting personality to relate with.
This is really informative. wow...
