Islamic Artistes Set For 20th Anniversary Celebration Of ISMAN

The original and most recognized umbrella body for Islamic artistes in the country, Islamic Musicians' Association of Nigeria (ISMAN) would on Sunday, October 30th, 2016, be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the association amidst pomp and pagentary at Timesquare Event Centre, 27, Ajao Road, off Adeniyi Jones, Ikeja, Lagos.

According to the National Public Relations Officer of ISMAN, Alhaji Bolaji Bello (Double B) who doubles as the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the anniversary celebration, the event being organised under the Presidency of Alhaji Mumeen Damilola (Esinogbamilaye) with a strong backing of Kabiyesi Muftau Gbadamosi, the Olofa of Ofa, who is the Grand Patron of ISMAN, would be taking off by 10 am Islamic time.

London Based Islamic Artiste, Sekinah Opens Couture In Lagos

Penultimate Saturday was a day of celebration for beautiful London based Islamic artiste, Alhaja Sekinah Omidiya, as she opened for business, her Sekinah Couture Limited in Nigeria. The outlet situated at 40, Brown Street, Oshodi, Lagos, was commissioned in an Islamic fashion as top clerics were invited to give lecture and offer fervent prayers for a lucrative business at the fashion store. A new album from her titled: "Sekinah" was also launched simultaneously at the event.

The main lecturer of the day at the event which took place on a space beside Sekinah Couture outlet was a popular and well respected Sheikh Sarkorfi while Sheikh Ainurido Ishola Abolaji also offered prayers for Sekinah and her guests from both Nigeria and London. The president of Islamic Musicians' Association of Nigeria (ISMAN), Alhaji Mumeen Damilola was also in attendance as well as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the association, Alhaji Bolaji Bello (Double B), the Deputy Amira, Alhaja Mujidat Damilola (Wabillahi Taofeeq) and some other members of ISMAN.

The well organised event also had members of the other faction in Islamic music industry known as Professional Islamic Musicians' Association of Nigeria (PISMAN) including their Amira, Alhaja Medinat Ashabi Barry Tide and Alhaja Afusat Oninure, in attendance. Branded by City People Magazine, the event attracted the attention of everyone around the location of the couture from the beginning to the end.

Meanwhile, some of the merchandize available at the couture include imported children wears, ladies wears, shoes, bags, jeweleries, swaroski accessories and back to school items, all at affordable prices.

Meanwhile, the cruise taking Sefiu Alao as well as his friend and top actor, Otunba Bolaji Amusan better known as Mr. Latin, across Orlando, Haiti, Mexico and Jamaica, according to findings by this blogger is one feat no other Fuji artiste, dead or alive, has attained before. Hence, it is a first of its kind. And Agbara Orin, as Sefiu Alao is also fondly called, according to an insider's information, is due back in the country later in the month.

Students Stage Surprise Birthday Bash For Say Zolar Beauty Planet Boss, Sola Alebiosu

It was a very pleasant surprise for the upwardly mobile boss of well patronized beauty spot, Say Zolar Beauty Planet, Sola Alebiosu, better known as Zolar, on Thursday, 11th August, 2016, as all his students staged a surprise birthday bash for him. The beautician who has his outlet located along Kola Road, Off Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Agbado-Ijaye, Lagos, never saw it coming as his pretty wife was drafted into the planning of the party by the students and they all kept mum about it till the last minute.

Unlike in the recent past few years when Zolar would do something elaborate to celebrate himself at his beauty spot every 11th of August, he chose to go a low key this year. And consequently, they only had a modest get-together, cut a birthday cake and shared it at work. But unknown to their trainer, his students still have other plans up their sleeves. 

After the close of work, the students all headed towards the same direction on Okada and that, Zolar noticed but never knew what their intention was. It was shortly after, that his wife called him to meet her at her shop on the pretext that she wanted to take him out for a drink just between the two of them. And she chose a popular joint called Relish on Ijaye Road, and lo and behold, when they got to the swimming pool side of the hotel that is being run with the joint, they walked into the midst of the students who started shouting happy birthday to their trainer. And he could only shook his head and smile for the pleasant surprise.

After merrying for sometime as the birthday boy also went swimming at the joint, the second stanza of the birthday party was taken to Niger Hotel, Alakuko, on the bill of one of Zolar's close friends called Destiny. Though, most of the students had left for their respective homes at that time of the night but a couple of them who were still around also followed Zolar, his wife and few other friends to the second location.See some of the pictures taken at the birthday below.

Sad: Armed Robbers Attack Popular Broadcaster, Soji Omotayo, Kill One Of His Proteges

These are definitely not the best of times for popular broadcaster, Soji Omotayo. The classy freelance presenter on both radio and television stations in the South-Western part of the country was last Saturday night waylaid by some trigger happy armed robbers after he left the premises of LTV 8 where he had gone to present a late night programme, according to reports. And after the men of the highway ordered the two cars conveying him and a handful of his proteges who always followed him around to park while shooting sporadically into the air, they were also commanded to lie facing down on the floor after filing out of the cars.

Meanwhile, all of them were said to have started taking off all the valuables they had on them such as handsets, wristwatches, necklaces, money and the rest of it, and were dropping them on the floor in their lying down posture when one of Soji Omotayo's proteges simply called "No Shaking" rashly stood up and made an effort to run away. But alas, the response of one of robbers to that daring act was fatal as he shot the fleeing guy straight in the head and he reportedly fell and died instantly!

Findings further revealed that, after the murder, the robbers still unrepentantly made away with one of the cars and all the valuables stolen from their victims. It was after the robbers left that the remains of "No Shaking" were said to be taken to the mortuary for enbalment. The police carrying out investigations on the robbery were, however, said to have recovered the stolen car where it was dumped by the robbers, but the robbers were still said to be at large as at the time of this report.

It would be recalled that Soji Omotayo was not too long ago, attacked by a man simply called Agarawu who matchetted him almost to the point of death over an allegation of sleeping with his (Agarawu) wife. It was only the grace of God that spared the presenter's life after the attack. These are indeed, not the best of times for Soji Omotayo.

As Sefiu Alao Waxes Special Number For Guests In Abeokuta

It was a special kind of commissioning on Thursday, 28th July, 2016, as Abeokuta, Ogun State, born bred and based big boy, Asiwaju Adeshina  Rachid Shotade popularly called Shyner, opened a first of its kind Multi-Million Naira ultral-modern audio/visual studio, 21st July Nigera Media, in grand style. The studio located on the topmost floor of 23, Laderin House, Quarry Road, Abeokuta is unrivalled yet in the country based on the sophistication of the equipment fitted into it, findings have revealed.  And to add colour and class to the official opening of the studio that promises to the new bride of artistes and thespians alike who value quality for recording of their music of any genre or editing of their movies, the socialite owner of the 21st July Nigeria Media brought in a handful of celebrities to be part of the epoch-making event.

Leading the pack of the public figures who identified with Shyner on his special day was top actor, Dele Odule, the President of  Theatre Arts and Movie Practioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), while others that followed included: Adewale Abiodun popularly known as Pastor Ajidara, the Ogun State Governor of TAMPAN, Fuji music star, Alhaji (Dr.) Sefiu Alao Adekunle a.k.a. Agbara Orin, star actors, Otunba Bolaji Amusan better known as Mr. Latin, Lanre Omiyinka popularly known as Baba Ijesha, Tunde Shobayo a.k.a. Cyro and Baba Super, popular broadcasters, Akinyemi Olatoye better known as Alawiye Federation, the Ogun State Chairman of Freelance and Independent Broadcasters’ Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Musiliu Sanni Mr. Bebe (Omo Iya Ponle, Alagbo 1 Million) and Sunday Ogunsola popularly known as Tantala. They all arrived early and stayed the course of the exclusive event that started around 5pm and ended around 10.30 pm.

The activities for the commissioning began with opening prayer by Pastor Ajidara on the red carpet that was set up on the staircase’s landing leading to the main entrance of the  studio, and immediately after the fervent prayer, everyone moved up the staircase to the sliding door that opens into the exquisite reception of the studio. The tape at the entrance for the commissioning was cut in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit by Dele Odule while other celebrities and guests looked on. And right after that, it was time to commission the studio proper as the tape tied across its entrance within was also cut in the same manner by Dele Odule. The inside of the cool studio due to the hyper performance of the air conditioner installed inside, was inspected by everyone and all they could say was wow!

Leaving the studio, the celebrities and selected guests were ushered into the expansive office of the CEO to be feted with delicious assorted delicacies. And while waiting for the order for their choice type of food from Poundo Yam, Amala, Ofada Rice and Jollof Rice to be taken by ushers, a photography session between Shyner and his guests took place at the cake stand in the reception. One of the two big cakes was made in the shape of Studio Console bearing July 21st and the other in the shape of Bercelona Jersy which is obviously the favourite football club side of Shyner. The jersy had a cake design of football beside it.  Immediately the photo session was done with, it was time for eating and drinking as some of the best brands of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks money can buy were served to everyone according to their choices.

Meanwhile, Shefiu Alao made record as the first star artiste ever to do a recording at the studio, as the talented Fuji artiste, after savoring his food, went straight into the studio and the next thing was that his inimitable producer, Issa Alabede a.k.a., who is incidentally the official producer at the studio, came back into Shyner’s office to write down the names of everyone that came for the commissioning. And within a short while, Shefiu Alao supported by Alabede, had composed and started waxing a special number eulogizing all the guests to commemorate the commissioning of the studio. Baba Ijesha and his crew also did a comic recording in the studio for Shyner after Sefiu Alao’s session.
